Welcome to the new ZSN!

Recovering the old forum posts is, for lack of a better word, impossible. Technically I still have the database backups from the old PHPBB, but extracting the threads and posts in any meaningful way just isn't worth the time involved. So rather than waste time trying to extract the information, I am simply re-adding boards from before and going with what I come up with. - Vadtec

About Us

The Zombie Survival Network (ZSN) is a group of people who feel it is appropriate, indeed prudent, to prepare for the unknown. Despite our group name, we believe in preparing for any national, global, or apocalyptic type situation that could arise. Whether this situation involves zombies or not is irrelevant. What is relevant is having the skills and knowledge to survive and protect those you care about.

Those of us who are part of ZSN realize that there are forces in this world we cannot control, and we should, and really have, to be prepared for them to rear their ugly faces at a moments notice. Do we anticipate these events happening? Certainly not, but not being prepared is worse than an event happening. We are average people with a life to live seeking to be prepared for any event the world can throw at us.

ZSN has no formal government, though we do adhere to a clan style of leadership. If an event should come to pass, we at ZSN feel it is better to let individual groups do what they must to survive, while still working together in cooperation to increase our odds. Rather than trying to restore a central government, we feel a clan system will more quickly restore balance and order to a post-apocalyptic world.

That being said, an explanation of what ZSN is not is in order. ZSN has no, nor have we ever had, any intentions of becoming a political party, militant group, separtist group, or any other ideology such as those. We have no ambitions other than being as prepared as we possibly can for any event that might happen. We do not condone violence, criminal activity, lawlessness, treason against ones country, racisim, or sexism; nor do we promote such ideas outside of discussing topics related to events that might happen and offering our opinions in those discussion. While we may discuss things like weaponry, tactics, current and post-apocalyptic politics, and other topics that may seem "unsavory", we do so in the interest of being prepared.

So in closing, if you are looking for a group of like minded people and want to prepare yourself for the likely coming of a world altering event, join us. On the other hand, if you are looking for someone to blame or point fingers at, go hunt down Bin Laden and do something productive, we have no need for you here at ZSN.

Many theorists agree that the safest way to defend against a zombie is to simply deny them access. Would you rather climb upstairs and destroy the staircase behind you or hunker down in a bunker underground?

Safely entering a room is topic of heated debate in many circles. Each leader will always have his or her own theory on the "best" method for entering a room safely. I choose to adopt a modified adaptation of the training provided by the U.S. Army. T...
